You can call it 'picking up the milk' for all I care. We are way too hung up sticking everything in boxes. Who cares.... I just like your photographs. The two row-houses are superb. Really well done, and the story to go along: Excellent!
I like the concept of steam of consciousness photography. This is what we all do, in the street or elsewhere, punctuated with more or less successful conscious attempts at making a good photo.
Don't you know this is the 'skidding-on-icy-roads-trying-not-to-end-up-in-a-hospital-night-time-photography subgenre? Like, everybody knows that! 😉😂 i quite like the pair of shabby row houses photo 👍
As a Baltimor-ean(-on) who works in west Baltimore your writing and images particularly resound with me. This job is a change from decades of being a carpenter which kept me firmly ensconced in the white L. It is easier to find beauty and elegance on the foot paths of Roland Park. I have been so glad to get to know some of those same streets you photograph and write about. The conditions can be daunting to take in at times and your voice and eye are empathetic, kind, and engaging. I’m reminded a little of David Simon, another chronicler of that area who doesn’t necessarily elevate but more discloses the humor and humanity that exist in those somewhat scuffed circumstances.
I love your choice of stream of consciousness! Your random walk through treacherous conditions is fascinating, producing moments of attention otherwise unseen. Fantastic work! 👍✨️
I enjoyed this so much, and as to those opinions, that just what they are, opinions. Even the greats would not dare make such a statement. Those people would only encourage you to continue.

Thank you!! I shall now call taking photographers "picking up the milk."

Great post - lovely images that do not need "classified" to be appreciated. The pair of shabby row houses is stunning.
Thank you. They are actually surrounded by equally shabby houses, but these two were particularly isolated.
You're never gonna make everyone happy, especially the type of art snobs photographers tend to be...
Ain't that the truth.

It's a niche, but there's definitely already someone from the 70s who's better at it than I'll ever be.
Love the images. Love the photography “genre” you’ve created. Love that you made it back without the car sliding into a ditch!
Great mages, great stories
Thanks, Kevin.
Stream of consciousness best describes so much of the way I photograph. Thanks for putting words (and photos!) to it for me.
sometimes photgraphers overthink me too, nice night shots

Hauntology of the best sort!
