Memory: imprecise, malleable, fleeting. Meaning: only really ever small “m”, individualized. Questions and searching: now that’s where upper case “I” It all happens.

Love seeing the places you photograph that I know through your captures.

Ever been to the Pet Cemetery on Oakleigh just north of Putty Hill? I think you’d like it.

Yes! This is one of my favorites from Oakleigh.

I love ALL of these so much. So much so that I had to shift from reading your post on my phone to looking at the photos full-sized on my computer.

My favorite is the Bethlehem church juxtaposed with the "delighted" (pun intended) electrical company sign. Perfectly composed and the choice of long exposure (no flash?) enabled both elements to be sharply in focus, with very little digital noise. The negative space of the dark night sky makes these elements pop in a way that they would not in daylight.

Nice work!

Hell yeah, you found the Shrewsbury gun shop! I can't tell you how excited I was to find it the first time. I had contemplated the headstone shop for photos before, but always ultimately bypassed it. Seeing this picture I feel like a bit of a dolt...but I think you were there for precisely the right signage.

We had overlooked that PA border area for while, but when we finally gave it a go, found it was pretty rich in material.

I used to do the same thing! My friends and I would call into 98 rock over and over again (the line was always busy) and try to get them to play Metallica. If they did, we would have our fingers on the record button to get it on tape. Such was the life of a 90s Maryland teenager

I adore photographs of signs. I am still—decades later—kicking myself for not taking one of my favorites. It was on a curve on a highway in the Midlands of South Carolina and read, “Catfish Alive and Dressed.”
